How to look-up a vehicle and check for warning lamps

When a customer reaches out about their vehicle, you can quickly look it up in ConnectedWorkshop to access key technical information including mileage, service history, connection status, and any reported faults. This allows you to provide faster, more accurate support during the call or visit.

Steps to Find Vehicle Information

Step 1 : Open the Vehicles menu

Log in to ConnectedWorkshop and select the Vehicles tab from the side menu.

Step 2 : Search for the vehicle

Use the search bar to find the right match. You can search by:

  • Registration number
  • VIN (Vehicle Identification Number)
  • Customer name
  • Phone number or email address

Step 3 : Open the Vehicle Details page

Click on the correct result to view full details, including:

  • Current mileage and service records
  • Connection type (CC-Link or OEM)
  • Battery and technical system data
  • A timeline of recent alerts or reported issues

Viewing Faults and Incidents

Go to the Alarms tab in the Vehicle Details view. Incidents are shown in two sections:

Important Incidents

These are critical alerts that are also visible to the customer in their Connected Cars app.

They typically include:

  • Warning lamps
  • Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs)
  • Any active technical issues requiring follow-up

Other Incidents

These are background alerts not shown in the app, such as:

  • Temporary or self-resolving faults Intermittent signals
  • Issues not relevant for customer attention

These entries are still useful for building a full picture of the vehicle’s condition and service history.

 Check Connectivity Status

Use the Connectivity tab to see:

  • When the vehicle last sent data
  • Whether the data connection is currently active

This can help you explain if certain information is missing or outdated, and guide the customer accordingly.
